Our state of the art facility has been designed with the utmost care and attention to detail to provide a calming environment for our patients, comfort for our clients, and allow for maximum ease and efficiency for our staff to provide top notch care. Much of our facility is illuminated by special full spectrum bulbs which studies have shown are calming to animals and people. Large family and/or pet groups are easily accomodated in our large examination room which is equipped with a comfortable sofa, windows to view the outdoors, and a hidden fold out exam table for examining smaller patients. The two smaller, but still oversized examination rooms, have a unique traction surface material on the examination table tops to provide more secure footing for your pet. Each exam room is equipped with it's own scale for weighing smaller pets to minimize the potentially stressful experience of moving them somewhere else, away from your presence, for this necessary measurement. Larger dogs don't seem to even notice they are stepping onto our walk-on platform, which is recessed into the floor. Phermone diffusers for both dogs and cats are scattered throughout the facility to provide an olfactory calming effect. Exhaust fans throughout the facility not only ensure a constant supply of fresh air, but are also configured to be extra quiet thus minimizing any distress from the high frequency noises which the sensitive ears of our pets can detect.

Dogs and cats have their own separate wards to minimize any stress which can result when these two species are otherwise housed close together. The spacious cat ward cages have resting shelves and optional porthole access to adjacent cages as well as built in radiant floor heaters which our geriatric patients especially seem to appreciate. Several cages also have attached litter box compartments for those cats wishing to "do their business" away from their resting areas. The canine ward cages are also equipped with radiant floor heaters and for those larger dogs, 2 spacious runs are provided. These runs are in the shape of a square which scientific studies have shown are preferred by dogs over the conventional narrow rectangular run configuration.

The treatment area is the hub of our facility. Several examination areas are utilized to administer treatments to our patients. The "wet station" area is especially useful for dental cleanings and extractions of severely diseased teeth. Our state of the art digital dental radiography capability allows for us accurately access the condition of your pet's teeth more precisely than ever before. These digital images are instantly transfered into your pet's electronic medical record for future reference. The treatment housing area is utilized to closely monitor our post operative patients, as well as pets' whose condition necessitates more intensive hospitalized care. These cages also have radiant floor heating, a shelf resting place for our feline patients, and suppplemental oxygen delivery capablity as well as medicated nebulization treatments for certain respiratory conditions. We are stocked with a wide assortment of medical supplies to allow us to provide comprehensive diagnostic and medical treatment services.

We have a fully stocked medical pharmacy for your convenience, as well as a representative selection of recommended pet supplies and prescription pet foods. Selected herbal medications and nutritional products are also available to compliment our holistic medical services.

The radiology unit allows us to obtain quality x-ray images of any part of your pet's body. The automatic processor develops these radiographs within several minutes so our clients can often review their pet's x-rays with Dr. Cohen within their appointment.

Selected laboratory tests can be run in our in house laboratory for same day results, with some test results available within minutes. A comprehensive array of more sophisticated diagnostic tests are available as a result of our relationship with an outside diagnostic testing laboratory.

The fully equipped surgical suite can accomodate almost all of your pets needs except those more typically provided by a specialist. The microsurgery pack is used for pocket pets and other tiny pets and for delicate surgical procedures. The surgery table is specially equippped with a heated top to help your pet stay comfortably and safely warm during their procedure. State of the art anesthesia monitors help to ensure your pet's safety to the greatest extent possible while they are under our care.
