ED COHEN, DVM

Dr. Ed Cohen is a 1988 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Before opening Anthem Pet Medical Center in June 2005, he worked at and partly owned a successful veterinary practice in the Moon Valley area of Phoenix for 13 years. Dr. Cohen enjoys all aspects of being a veterinarian and has a special interest in diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions, performing soft tissue surgery, working with pocket pets, employing select holistic medical treatments, and utilizing comprehensive measures to absolutely minimize pain and distress in his patients. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Arizona Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Information Network, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. In his spare time, Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, playing with his three dogs, being physically active, cooking, and reading.

DENISE DAWSON, DVM

Dr. Denise Dawson joined our practice in January, 2011. She has practiced in the Phoenix Valley since moving here in 2000 with her husband, a fellow veterinarian. A 1999 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. Dr. Dawson spent several years as a full-time doctor in Sun City, but after the birth of their daughter in 2005, she chose to provide part-time and relief services for many different practices in the Valley. Her areas of interest include: internal medicine; dentistry; general surgery; and especially feline care. (She has a real soft-spot for the old kitties). Dr. Dawson thoroughly enjoys her patients and teaching owners the finer points of pet care. She feels a well-informed owner results in the best care for their pets; you can count on her to listen and offer detailed advice. Her good-natured disposition and sincerity make her very approachable and we hope you have a chance to meet her the next time you are visiting us!
